aeropress | brew guide

The Aeropress was designed in 1984 and is known as a hybrid brew method, combining both full immersion and percolation. This tool can make anything from something closely resembling a shot of espresso, to a delicious full cup of coffee! This recipe will be utilizing the inverted method of brewing.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
    -225g of water (15:1 ratio)
-15g of freshly ground coffee (fine)
    -Kettle
    -Stirrer
    -Aeropress

Put ground coffee at the bottom of the Aeropress, this being the bottom of the plunger. To do this, you’ll need the plastic filter cap and the paper filter off the Aeropress. Pour hot water over the plastic filter cap and the paper filter, pre-wetting and heating the filters.

At 2:00, begin depressing the plunger, pushing the liquid through the filter. This process should take about 20 seconds. Once you hear a hissing noise, you’ll know you’ve finished. Now go enjoy that cuppa.
